How The Original and Sequel Differ If you still play the N64 occasionally, you'll notice that many changes were made between the original and the Melee sequel. For one thing, Link goes from sounding like a 27-year-old opera singer to sounding like a 15-year-old elf when he falls off the stage. LOL, that's just an opinion, but oh well. The speed of battles also increased in Melee, as one of my gaming buddies pointed out to me. The sheer number of unlockable characters and stages has also been dramatically increased in the sequel, which greatly improves the game, and I personally like the addition of the three female characters to round out the group. Forgive me, I'm a feminist. LOL. And is it just me, or is there tons more stuff to do in SSB:M? It seems like there's a lot more challenges, Special Matches (like Link fighting Dark Link), and bonus features. The Multi-Man Melee, Cruel Melee, and Endless Melee are all new features, as is the Home Run Challenge. This makes the game playable for months and years (I should know, I've been playing it for three years and still haven't gotten all the cool stuff yet). |
